Battalion Transition Solutions helps veterans, first responders, older adults, people with disabilities, and their families make homes safer, more accessible, and better suited for independent living.
Keeping people in their homes — safely, respectfully, and with dignity.
Who We Serve
Every transition is different. BTS focuses on the people who most often need practical, trustworthy help navigating home safety, accessibility, mobility, and changing day-to-day needs.
Home-safety and accessibility planning that respects service, independence, family needs, and the realities of aging or disability.
Practical transition support for firefighters, police officers, EMS professionals, and their families when injury, retirement, or life changes affect the home.
Aging-in-place guidance focused on reducing fall risk, improving access, and making everyday routines safer and easier.
Accessibility-minded recommendations for entrances, circulation, bathrooms, kitchens, fixtures, storage, and other daily-use areas.
Services
BTS is the consulting, assessment, and coordination side of the process. The goal is to identify needs clearly, prioritize the right work, and help clients move from concern to action.
Walkthroughs focused on fall risks, difficult transitions, unsafe layouts, lighting, handholds, thresholds, stairs, entrances, and daily-use trouble spots.
Planning for current and future needs so a home can remain functional as mobility, balance, strength, vision, or caregiver needs change.
Practical, accessibility-informed recommendations for doorways, pathways, ramps, railings, bathrooms, kitchens, fixtures, reach ranges, and mobility access.
Recommendations for safer bathing, toileting, transfers, counters, storage, appliance access, clearances, grab bars, seating, and slip resistance.
Assessment of steps, thresholds, exterior routes, handrails, ramps, door openings, floor transitions, and other barriers to safe movement.
Clear recommendations organized by urgency, with photo documentation and a practical upgrade list that families can understand and use.
Help translating recommendations into scopes of work, reviewing practical options, coordinating trades, and keeping the project aligned with the client’s needs.
Help identifying potential veteran, public, waiver, nonprofit, or community resources that may support eligible accessibility or safety improvements.
BTS provides consulting and coordination. Eligibility for grants, VA programs, Medicaid programs, waivers, tax benefits, or other funding is determined by the applicable agency or program.
How It Works
We start with the person, family, caregiver, or referring professional and learn what is changing, what feels unsafe, and what outcomes matter most.
We review the home, access points, daily routines, mobility challenges, and high-risk areas with a practical construction and safety perspective.
We separate urgent safety needs from useful upgrades and longer-term improvements, helping clients understand what should happen first.
When work is needed, BTS can help turn recommendations into a clear scope and coordinate qualified resources or contractors.
We stay focused on whether the completed solution actually supports safety, independence, and the client’s day-to-day life.
Why Battalion
Battalion Transition Solutions was created to bridge a gap: people often know that a home is becoming difficult or unsafe, but they do not always know what needs to change, what should come first, who to call, or how to turn a list of concerns into a workable project.
Its founder brings more than three decades of hands-on remodeling, build-out, project coordination, problem-solving, and client service experience, along with U.S. Navy service and OSHA 30 training. That background shapes a simple approach: show up, understand the mission, identify the problem, build a practical plan, and follow it through.
BTS exists to serve veterans, first responders, older adults, and people with disabilities with the same values that define good field leadership: respect, accountability, safety, and results.
Planning + Implementation
Battalion Transition Solutions is designed to provide assessment, planning, documentation, and coordination. When physical modifications are needed, the construction work can be separately scoped with an appropriate contractor.
Build-Out Specialist, a veteran-owned commercial and residential remodeling company with decades of field experience, may be considered for implementation where appropriate. Clients remain free to use the contractor of their choice.
For Families & Referral Partners
BTS can work with individuals and families directly and can also support professionals who need a practical home-safety or accessibility resource for the people they serve.
Start With a Conversation
Whether the concern is a fall risk, a difficult bathroom, stairs, wheelchair access, a changing medical or mobility need, or a family trying to plan ahead, the first step is understanding the situation.
